Unfortunately, it bombed a Columbia entry level astrophysics exam (designed for non-stem students)[0] It appears it does math worse then college freshmen! :-P Students averaged 75.6% - ChatGPT got a 73.9% Really surprises me how bad it seem

Hmm - I'm not a fan of active cooling solutions (peltier, water, etc). Unless really well done, a failure leaves you with basically zero cooling. I like a nice big chunk of metal! it ain't sexy, but its quiet and reliable.

Hmm...This goes beyond what PBS space-time taught me about it :-) My understanding was we have more space (eg space is expanding) but the 'vacuum energy' is staying constant.. If I understand what you're saying, that statem

The thing I don't get with that analogy is the ballon IS expanding into something - eg if you put the balloon in a cup, it won't expand (unless you have REALLY strong lungs :-) ). Also, curious where the extra energy comes from to

Personally, having used COBOL for what it was intended (accounting systems), I didn't really mind it. It was verbose, but so was everything back then. I also really liked being able to read DDL directly from the file on the AS/40

IIRC, that swapped a few years ago...Millenials are now the largest cohort followed by Gen-Z, Boomers and then Gen-X. Given Gen-X is both the smallest and next cohort to start retiring, I'm guessing medicare, SSI, etc. will have a few

Thought it was interesting what chatGPT got right, and what it got wrong. Counter to my intuition, it seemed to have issues with the math in this exam designed to be 'math lite' class for introductory Astrophysics.
