Agreed the CDDL to codegen pipeline / tooling is the biggest thing holding back CBOR at the moment. Some solutions do exist like here’s a C one[1] which maybe you could throw in some WASI / WASM compilation and get “somewhat” idio

CBOR is probably the best and most standards compliant thing out there that I’m aware of. It’s the new default in a lot of IOT specs, it’s the backbone for deep space communication networks etc.. Maintains interoperability with JSON. Is ver

You seem to pop up on threads on a daily basis just making up shit and pretending it’s a fact. I guess it really matches the bio you wrote here in your profile but JFC… why..

For what it’s worth, I’m half way through writing a RDF library at the moment and I get what you are saying in an abstract / first impression sense but it all made sense and wasn’t a huge pain to work with in practice. I just think tha

I wish more people would get on board with Solid, it would solve a lot of the surveillance capitalism problems that plague modern society. For what it’s worth, I think Solid is still very much “in development” and is a pre 1.0 thing no?

Maybe worth also pointing out that a meaningful refresh of the RDF specification is getting rather close to completion. Hopefully version 1.2 which addresses a lot of shortcomings should officially be a thing this year. In the meantime you

It’s just like an LLM stuck on a loop. It’s just years and years of making the exact same comments, not responding to any counter arguments and then demanding that people take you seriously.

At no point have I ever gotten the impression that you are even remotely open to seeing other points of view so it’s a bit hard to take the moralistic tone of the brave defender of the web part seriously. I think you just want to yell at pe

I might have chosen my words slightly differently but my point still stands. Apple has an incredibly well known horrible reputation inside of standards meetings and bodies from their peers. It has been that way for well over a decade at thi

Anyone who’s actually being in the room with people from Apple when talking about standards I’m sure would be more than happy to correct you on the fantasy you have constructed here. The author of this post is one of them who actually has a

Hands down the most underrated front end library out there. It powers some major projects like ChromeOS, Chrome Devtools, I think most of Firefox’s UI, Photoshop for the web, MDN etc.

I mean honestly, you and I are coming from very different places mentally. There’s just no scenario where I would be walking the streets in the US doing my normal day to day shit with a weapon to begin with. I understand that’s become a ver

There absolutely are valid reasons. Like I said, patrolling in an active war zone is an example of one. Walking around on base for example isn’t even remotely close to one. This isn’t uniquely an American thing but it’s extremely common i
