Clojure has #(+ % 10) for Arc's [+ _ 10]. Does anyone know if Arc inspired Clojure, or whether there's prior art for this syntax?

Great rule! "I will now discuss the implications of the foo build structure" is lethally boring. There is however one exception: http://consc.net/misc/moser.html

I have the same question, but for Vim. Also, for find-and-replace. I think it requires a plugin, but I'm baffled why it isn't there out-of-the-box. (Unless it is there, and I haven't found it yet.)

Every symbol and every letter (upper- and lowercase) on your keyboard has a specific meaning. Spend an hour trying out what all (80 or so) do - that's fun! Then do some actual editing and try to navigate as efficiently as possible - make it

Yes, it's less (about 1/3 to 1/2), but it's significantly more than cola. Don't switch to black tea if you want to kick your caffeine habit. Here's another source: http://www.stashtea.com/caffeine.htm

Black tea contains about as much caffeine as Red Bull (per liter). Admittedly less than coffee, but hardly minimal. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caffeine

Hope there will be customizable search from the address bar, like in Opera, or with Keywurl in Safari. I looked into the extensions API, but didn't find any hooks.

That sounds very interesting. I guess you'd need some kind of abstraction layer to bridge the app and the individual websites, with one implementation for each community. What would that API look like? getListOfTopics , getListOfComments

I found the part about IDEs fascinating: IntelliJ will recognize those ugly anonymous classes, and show them to you as closures. I wonder how far you could take this. A language like Duby gives you Ruby syntax, while producing identical byt

I'm not sure if C#/Java's type-safety has morphed into a ridiculous version of itself. I suspect that there has been too little, rather than too much development in this regard. Type-inference and typedefs would go a long way of solving th

Note that Greenspun is inviting comments. I think the biggest drawback is finding good software design reviewers. If you haven't got the technical expertise to judge the work of your programmers, you're not equipped to judge the result of a
