Yea, I think it started with trade barriers, but I think Apple likely wants to increase non-China manufacturing to reduce their risk a bit. Tensions with China have been a bit high and when you're Apple's size, it can be good to l

I'm surprised they're quoting you $60-80/mo. Verizon's 5G home internet is $50/mo (or $25/mo bundled with one of their premium wireless plans or $40/mo bundled with Visible's $35/mo Visible+ wire

That's rare. T-Mobile averages 53ms latency according to Ookla/Speedtest.net for multi-server latency. For wired connections, Xfinity averages 24ms, Cox 25ms, and Spectrum 31ms. So wireless does add an additional ~25ms of latency

There's probably a lot of reasons. The biggest thing is probably that data centers wouldn't want an M2, M2 Pro, M2 Max, or M2 Ultra. Apple would need a specialized chip. Right now, Apple Silicon tops out at 12 cores (8 performance

By that logic, I get new iPhones for free. Even if you include the value of the iPhone I trade in, it's still only $250-300. Yes, they're right that you don't need to spend more than $250 to get a really capable smartphone -

First, I'd say that sometimes companies don't use the same tooling even if they could. One of the things that gave TSMC an advantage was that they did push EUV while Intel didn't. Intel did make some investments in EUV, but p

It'll be interesting to see how this plays out over the next year or two. A lot depends on how well TSMC, Samsung, and Intel execute. Intel's roadmap has had Intel 4 happening in 2023, but it's possible that Meteor Lake will

Even if you only have one ISP, they often have multiple plans and it can be hard to compare them. Most cable companies won’t even tell you what their upload speeds are. It definitely still has value even if you only have one ISP.
