It clearly states in the article they are not looking for better pay for fulltime staff. The things mentioned are the contractors/vendors, huge severence payments for sexual harrasement and unethical government contracts.

There are a lot of amazing concepts that Toyota developed. It requires a lot of discipline, focus and commitment to implement properly. One thing I didn’t see mentioned that Tesla is currently doing is a very strong relationship between des

And IMHO we are extremely close. There is lots of evidence that AI can be much _better_ than a human driver, although currently on things like well mapped highway driving with clear conditions. Whats going on now is just making that general

We can eventually make AI do any of that better than a human by a long shot. We tend to overestimate the power of the human brain. There is a lot we don’t know yet, but we shouldn’t treat it as magic and unsolvable by AI.

BMW is on their way out. They have really lost their way. This is what happens when you move away from focusing on the product/craftsmanship and let bean counters in control.

Different take here. I think they should stick to the computer/operating system of a car and either take a large stake in an existing automaker or license the technology to several of them. Actually _making_ cars is doomed to be a fail

Had to laugh at your comment about Scotland because people in Maine do the same thing. Heat is either blasting or turned off. Very poor insulation.

One of the slides mentioned that the air is limited to 10watts though. I wonder if it does have the same soc but its nerfed beyond 10watts.

Thank you for this comment. It matches quite closely with my thinking on the issue. A generic term like “tech debt” is lazy and does not capture anything about the business value or decision making process that led to the code or would lead

I’m happy to report that this may be fixed going forward. Tesla and I think most EV’s will not let you in drive while plugged in.

Yes, EV’s have fewer parts so the actual building of an EV should be easier than ICE in a general sense. That doesn’t automatically mean that legacy auto can build EVs better and more profitable than Tesla can. In fact the switching costs

Lead Acid is pretty old tech. My car (Tesla Model 3) has a roughly 75kWh lithium-ion battery. Even with AC and/or a heat pump, that battery could run a rather large home for more than a day on it’s own. Their powerwall home battery is
