I suspect that Lemkin would disagree with the order here, FYI. Lemkin clearly states on sasstr.com and quora that he thinks you essentially hire 2 sales reps, then a great VP of sales. He also states that on their blog. http://

I think you hit the nail on the head in 2 ways. First, s completely free market might work in healthcare, but what we have in America is so far from that, that most people don't even know what they are fighting for. Second, you do ha

Hmmm...I see signals of both in what you say: I think the mission to make a life a little better in a specific way is a true mission. Solving a frustration that you truly hate is a common factor in many successes. That said, I also tend to

Sorry, wrong developer, same point. The actual developer name is Contradictory. Timeline: (1) Contradictory made "Paper" (2) 53 made "Paper by 53", with the same function as "Paper" (just a lot better) (3) Fa

Thanks again. I did fix the Gini issue, which was my fault in trying to get something posted without sufficient editing. I was surprised by how confusing the statistics were about the trend of income disparity. How the numbers varied wide

Thanks for digging into the numbers with me. Actually there are 1947 Gini numbers floating around, and the multiple sources including government census data, and world bank numbers are all slightly different, which in itself is a problem.

I'm not sure you read the article, because you make some of the same points I do. "There is massive income inequality. Its trajectory isn't nearly as large of an issue as the status quo, which is pretty dismal." The poin

I read both HN and LW, and enjoy both. I've noticed people on HN describing LW as "cultish" a couple of times now, and am constantly suprised by this. Can you shed any light on why you feel this way?
