You seem to imply it's AZ's fault, when in fact it's clearly a systemic FDA issue here. AZ's vaccine has been proven safe and effective multiple times in multiple studies. The FDA has banned banned everyone from choosing

It's the vaccine bans that are bad. Careful review is not. When your government doesn't let you take something you want, it's a ban we just aren't using the word. This one was particularly eggregious, because even if the

If interested in this kind of thing, I always recommend Issac Arthur. He describes the Fermi Paradox and related concepts 100x better than anyone else. Some relevant ones: The Fermi Paradox Compendium https://www.youtube.com/

Derek did a good job on this issue, both warning it would happen before and re-emphasizing that it's most likely statistical anomaly. Even if the blood clots were a result of the AZ vaccine, it would still make more sense for most peop

The US Constitution set copyright originally as 14 years, extendable by another 14. This sounds about right. I think artists would not be dissuaded from working and would monetize the roughly the same with 20-30 year copyright terms.

Since we know the answer to the question already, hopefully this is just giving political cover to cancel this program. Even if it were free to finish development, a 1x per year, expensive, risky rocket, with minimal extra lift capacity wou

The language here confuses the truth. They banned people from taking a vaccine that is very safe and effective. Give people a choice.

Agree that his premise is entirely an economic one. From first principles, nuclear energys's marginal cost is very inexpensive (similar to renewables). What's basically needed to bring the cost of nuclear down is scale, investing

The opening pretty much sums up that this isn't a research piece, it's a political opinion piece: "Current debate about inflation isn’t really about whether it’s likely: it isn’t. Instead it’s about whose vision of the future

Right now, all numbers from Teslas Autopilot look better than average. There are a bunch of potential asterisks to the numbers (mostly freeway miles, Teslas are safer than average, etc), but overall the numbers suggest humans + Tesla Autopi

It's even less of a story than that. The best estimates of COVID prevalence are in the 20-35% range, so about 4x the listed numbers. Since it's likely given their focus on testing they are closer to the true rate, the fact that it

I'm sure different trailer park owners are a mixed bag, some good some bad. The real issue is government limitations on the supply of housing (height, min parking, setbacks, etc). Housing could be high quality and relatively cheap. Fro

Do you have a way to migrate Zapier zaps? I feel like since that is the dominant ecosystem, having a way to easily port Zaps would be very beneficial. Building one of these things correctly is significant work, and it's hard to justify

We have used Ionic to build once deploy on mobile and web for years. It works really well for us now. (I am not sure it would work for all usecase but my guess is 99% of non-game apps would be fine).

Difference of opinion, I think 200 miles is plenty of range even for most 1 car families. That is basically 1 stop from LA to vegas, and 1-2 stops from LA to San Francisco. I'd like to see focus on lowering the base cost of Teslas, and

Power satellites like this are one of the first great possible ways to put industry in space. We need early economic reasons to get there. Issac Arthur usually has the best overview of topics like this https://youtu.be/eBCbd
