Firefox on Android @ 1440p also does this. I'd say it is because they are using svg for the images and the "pixels" are each separate rects. Just a guess, cannot look at the source rn.

Every company does this. It reminds me of Casio and their calculators. You can "hack" some of them just by painting a wire with a pencil, and it unlocks features of more advanced ones.

AFAIK it gets compiled AOT to C++ code. Technically, should be pretty fast out of the box.
