Yeah. Sometimes per-request page performance is less important than overall throughput, though.

PHP's sessions are stored in files by default, not persisted in memory.

Yes. PHP does the same thing. Actually, most frameworks do that; very few keep state within the application server between requests. Statelessness, in that respect, improves scalability.

The message unnecessarily belittles IE6 users. However, IE6 will only go away if we actively discourage its use. Do not go out of your way to support it. Do not allow it to suck more time and energy out of you. IE6 will continue to survive

I also do this, with a custom python script. Yeah, there are disadvantages, but right now I love its simplicity. I don't have to worry about keeping Wordpress updated; I just make a new static file and run the update script. If my needs eve

In other words, if they didn't offer the free website, or if their iPhone app didn't require a net connection, I'd easily consider the $50 price justifiable.

Considering that WA's iPhone app seems to be little more than a wrapper around their free offering, it seems entirely reasonable to question the $50 price tag.

Apple's alarm clock program works regardless of which app you currently have open.

That shouldn't be too hard with GPS, minus the whole "no background apps" thing: Just prompt users for a location (i.e. tap on a map) when setting an alarm, with a radius perhaps. And to accommodate the "alarm" case, just add a checkbox to

Probably, but I already have a decent-sized free user base. Unless they're privy to the naming tests, they'll only be confused when they hear about different names for the same plan.

A lot of the iPhone settings could be considered for "power users". There's a setting to tell the phone what to do when the home button is pressed; there's one to turn on Caps Lock, Shake to Shuffle, change the Photos' slideshow transition.
