As is common, Mr. Munroe put things into context. I sincerely hope this image is shared thoroughly . This "all in perspective" thing might help a lot more than out of context quotes, and to kill the FuD. However, I might be o

The easiest example to see (to me) is the use of the cloud / blush sprite in Super Mario Bros. 1. They use the same sprite with an alternate pallet. (1) The most complicated example I've seen thus far, however, is that of Crash B

Another interesting thing to view is the recently published video of his talk at Vintage Computer Festival East XI (1). The idea of text being treated as paper makes perfect sense to me. Unfortunately, it can be incredibly messy to expla

I always look at the Lego windstorms with a degree of curiosity, as their software libraries are derived from LabVIEW.

I was under the impression it was recently updated for the 25th anniversary. However, I can understand not adding "security" in the name of preservation. Real shame.

I find it interesting how the first website ever, being info.cern.ch, fails 6 of the 10 tests, getting a 0/100.

It already rules space [1], the microscopic [2], and the server market. One can hope that the advent of Wayland and a more "modern" way to draw items on screen will prompt the rapid development of user desktop applications, even

From the perspective of a student who got out of high-school, I got most of my work done in medium-sized group of individuals who actually wanted to work. Any more than 10 was useless and they began to chit-chat. Much fewer and people te

I stated that transparently just to say that it was one, not that it isn't a well done one. I actually am running a Canary build for Linux of Discord and have had almost no issues with it, and any problems have been fixed very trans

Full Disclosure: I really like Discord, and use Twitch daily. Discord has more easily manageable chat roles, eg: Moderator, Helper, Regular, Supporter, etc. Twitch chat is nothing more than simple IRC, and relies almost entirely on bots fo

Though this isn't a service I'd personally use, it seems useful. One suggestion though, as hated as it might be, would be to make a mobile app. My experience with outings and shows is that you tend to forget stuff like this when

Though it's my two cents, Niantic got part of the Pokemon games but missed out the biggest thing that made it fun. Random Battles! Battling your friends (as early as Gen 1 [2]) You can't weaken random Pokemon at all, you can

It's startling for such a large company to make such blunders. Not unexpected, but honestly disappointing... At one point I checked his public account on Imgur and his hosted albums had a set of S3 IPs & keys. Yeah, he responde

My only major concern about that is would the data encoding of quake be considered "encryption" in the eyes of the FCC? Other than that, it'd be pretty cool to see that.
