How about volunteer to be a football coach, or a coach for some other sport?

I think the OP's motive here is to offer interaction to the other person who might be lonely. Not to make the OP feel good while not wasting time.

Freelancing? I can see this as a route to getting cash in quickly while transitioning from employment to business. With two of you, one can focus on delivery/support, the other on biz-dev/sales. From there, see if the freelancing

Sounds grand. There are a lot of us who just want to pay the rent. If that means a React job, so be it.

I've not used hooks yet, but it's on my list to learn. Thanks for the warning though!

I don't know of any infinite loop problems in React. I would think they are less likely than using MVC / JQuery style patterns.

Larger companies need meta-roles. That is never going away. If that "PMO" person isn't using JIRA, they are using something else, or there are even more people wasting time dealing with all this via email and shared Excel she

Yeah it depends what question you are trying to answer: 1. Does my air purifier filter out PM2.5? or 2. Dos lower PM2.5 make me sleep better? For #1 there is no placebo effect (there is no human element!)

Whether or not it seems complicated depends on if you have nailed down the mental model. It's a bit like Git, in that respect.

I had a review like that, and I didn't fight. I quit. Why was I such a wimp? Well I figure what is the point of that battle? Some people have deranged thinking and it's not my job to turn around that juggernaut. I'd rather fo

Uhh,no. React is popular because devs HAVE to use JS & DOM to do web development in the browser, and they want speed, and to use a library endorsed by a big company. And some of those devs (like me) prefer the unidirectional / func

This seems ripe for placebo. Installing purifier and indeed measuring lower PM, means naturally you feel less worried and more relaxed!

I find JIRA light weight. The trick is not to follow too many processes. Drag on tickets to your board when you start them and move then through the swim lanes. The worst cases are when people set up too much security and complex transition

It'd be better if the lock (Conch, sorry!) was acquired when you request the resource, and automatically released. In that vein, you'd need to write bespoke code for the "pre-production demo environment". Maybe there is

Your app might need to call home for updates? I guess it could call home then and verify. Yes people could carry on running the SW on an old version and hack it somehow, but don't worry about those people. You won't answer their s

Yes and no. It's a good salary for my area compared to other people doing the same job, but OTOH it's not enough to pay for raising a family as a sole breadwinner. US tech salaries seem to be able to get to much higher levels, wit

This would be an interesting alternative to travis-ci or appveyor scripts (where you are locked in to that tech). By using this you can have scripts that run local or run on CI, and just have a one liner on travis-ci to call Run.

I just write a lot of code that looks inside strings, in simple 'crud' apps, so I can't imagine avoiding these kinds of operations. Of course if you can use highly trusted libraries and just pass 'em around it's OK.
