Heh, I found out about this recently. I have a coworker who is simultaneously quite good at chess and Brasilian JiuJitsu. I suggested a combination of the two and he told me about Chess boxing: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki&

Agreed - I didn't, the article did. It is a fatuous distinction. In fact - that categorizing is an example of the complete lack of imagination that I am talking about.

It shows a lack of imagination. You see this and want to be surprised. Learn about some fantastic unknown Malaysian film that blows doors... I overuse a half learned Nietzsche quote from the beginnings of "The use and abuse of history.

And the inclusion of films like Spielberg's "Empire of the Sun" is bizarre. That film is like a 2hr episode of "Hogan's Heros" set in a Japanese POW camp.

Wow - this is lacking. Very much a Hollywood/ NYC focus. I could think of 5 (each) Russian, Chinese, French, Indian, Japanese, Korean, Australian films would be before "Bad Lieutenant" (a film I like a lot - esp with the orig

great points. I see this program and wonder why we (in the US) go into such contortions away from teaching - math. Just teach kids how to think in math and they will take to most CS topics like fish in water.

Thank you for the link - the study is very interesting to read. I have been bumbling around for a while trying to see what fits for me and there have been counter-intuitive things that seem to work. This study makes me think of that. Part o

Exactly - I was thinking about cars. If you have a problem with the brake system you don't call Delco (who used to make those indash radios years ago) because that logo is visible and staring you in the face. ... Although there probabl

Good advice. I had a non-tactical, non-aggressive knife in my pocket and ended up getting arrested. No previous trouble with the law... I was minding my own business on the subway. Handful of court dates, a few grand and community service.

More money and more queries-per-month then that at nsone.net. They are very good. The api is especially nice for setting up failover and geo pools.
