It’s tech debt, but it’s cheap debt. 80Mb isn’t much to have to worry about. There are many ways to use a DB of that size that will be “good enough”. So long as the queries were returning fast enough and the dev overhead wasn’t too much (LF

Why are you asking for advice then? Another way to think of this would be — what is covered in the Horstmann book better than the Liang book. What are topics that are missing from your already chosen book that your students would benefit fr

That’s been my problem with any non-MS vscode distribution. Missing Remote-SSH and devcontainers. Both of which I tend to use a lot — especially remote ssh with large datasets that exist on remote servers. Otherwise, I’d be all in for this!

You could have static elements pre-rendered, but only loaded on demand. For example, if you had a blog with comments, you could have the comments pre rendered in htmx fragments, but only loaded when they are clicked. Or a photo gallery with

I think you’re right about this. There should be a special “limited” icon to show when your service is being deprioritized. I think would actually help the carriers as it would tell customer when a degradation of service was due to a conges

This is an error that should probably have been caught just based upon the color of the text when it was typed/pasted into the source code. Of the uuid() call was in quotes, it would have appeared as text. When you’re blindly using

I like the detached menu, but mainly because it makes the application window smaller with less overall decoration. With multiple applications open, each window having menu bar decorations seems cluttered to me. I like the minimalist and con

The problem is that the altered images represent a still plausible theory. There is a reason why they were believed in the first place. It isn’t that these false images are negative evidence. Instead, they don’t help or refute the underlyi

In this context, I wouldn't be interested in averages. Their systemic issues dealing with extreme weather (winter and summer) are pretty well known. The average reliability rates aren't going to necessarily show these events.

That was my assumption too, but it's not across the board. For example, AT&T, Inc (HQ in Dallas) is a Delaware Corp. But, I expect that any of these companies that have many years of history will have complex organizational structu

You probably don’t want to expose that service to the internet… I see this as something like the console management for VPS. Back in the day, I remember reading about how prgmr.com had setup a console that you’d directly SSH into. That’s no

As another point, my PCP moved to a concierge model a few years back. We stuck with him and couldn’t be happier with the situation. Finding a good doctor you trust and have a good relationship with can be hard, but very worthwhile.
