I’m someone that grew up with AltaVista and thus I’m pretty good with my search terms and modifiers. And I often remember specific phrases from the websites I’m looking for. However, Google is more and more optimised for people NOT knowing

Btw: MicroPython is also available as a binary for all the usual operating systems. I’ve once made a few scripts and some .sh and .cmd files to launch them using the bundled micropython binary.

The trick with YouTube on iOS is to delete the app and use the website in Safari instead. There, you can use Wipr 2 or other ad blockers.

The website codeberg.org is technically similar to GitHub in that they host your code. The repo for OrganicMaps on codeberg.org is here: https://codeberg.org/organicmaps/organicmaps However, as you can see, this is onl

I’ve happily used python-dialog, a wrapper for dialog (and dialog-compatible alternatives) which provides the very basics but is extremely easy to work with. https://pythondialog.sourceforge.io/

This is great for probing scammers, though. Especially in non-English languages as they often use translation tools. And those have the same problem in recognising e.g. “ℍ” as “H”.

Yes. Simply sleeping on the arm where you wear your watch will make it record crazy values. The sleep quality and breathing measurements are based on movement - which doesn’t make sense when you have another person or pet with you in the be

I’ve got a charger for my Apple Watch on my desk. I charge my watch in the evening while I’m doing stuff on the computer. When it’s bedtime, the watch is at 100% - ready for sleep tracking and the next day.

The iconic Casio calculator watch was square. Dick Tracy’s watch was square. Michael Knight’s watch was square. All the smart watches were square. And try reading a longer notification on a round display. It just doesn’t make any sense.

My biggest gripe with Garmin is how they started to become a new NOKIA - at least in the smartwatch market. 10 years ago, they had a hand full of different models with clearly distinguished features. And there was one does-it-all model. Now
