That last point is so painful and true. I work with a product that has dozens if not hundreds of “connectors” to interface with other systems and you can tell that most of them were farmed out to the lowest bidder.

As was pointed out many developments are built out over time in sections as demand dictates. Another factor besides coronavirus is widespread civil unrest. I think the one two punch was enough to make many people start considering it. My fr

Now every developer has access to any db credential that was in source control. If your project has had hundreds or thousands of developers that is a security concern.

That’s all well and good until you need to upgrade some massive project to a new JDK or your Rails app from one major version to another. Then you will be wishing you had significant coverage.

I think people selfishly like many aspects of the covid lockdown. But they may regret it later. I know many school teachers that have enjoyed a very light workload this spring and are rooting for something similar in the fall. It may go on

Also in that timeframe the privacy landscape and people’s sensitivity to it have changed a great deal. It’s a much bigger concern amongst normies than it was 10-15 years ago.

The cost is unannounced, but it will surely be astronomical. The penny farthing design feature is going to really appeal to the urban hipsters that will be able to afford it. I would bet the price approaches the cost of a nice used pull beh

I don’t think any of those examples are really misconceptions. You even admit that many people have this experience with “blue collar” unions. Most developers are not foolish enough to think they are immune to these foibles. We have a lot m

I would like to see a return of the Macbook. I loved the form factor on mine, but after a couple OS updates the anemic processor became a painful bottleneck. On the flipside my several years old iPad pro still feels blazingly fast.
