I'm quite fascinated by what effects on the brain can be achieved with content of this type built for the Oculous Rift.

It's not an either / or option. Yeoman handles serving unminified files during dev just fine and compiles / concatenates them for production. You can do everything the rails asset pipeline does and more with grunt. Yeoman co

Ya'll seem to be arguing apples and oranges. To get to the point, when webGL is commonplace what stops you from creating a 'structured and well declared' markup / styling language that renderers to webGL without all the

I've tried this but have found that in almost all cases jqLite doesn't implement something needed for a given lib. Moreover, a single lib not working with jqLite spoils the entire thing.

This has actually been problematic for me and I'm sure others. I'm currently working on an app that is Angular based and trying as hard as I can to avoid a jQuery dependency, mostly because I have no direct use for it and would r

It seems to me that the measurement here comes into question. What is a cup now vs what is a cup then? At what brew strength? etc.

That is interesting...assuming you can address individual devices and get some concept of relative position you can likely create some pretty interesting psychoacoustical effects with that many point sources. Probably highly dependent on b

Doubtful, any purpose built ultrasonic sensor will likely be running at much higher frequencies than you can play with via a standard audio chain. The Ping for example runs at 40khz but the most you'll get out of a standard issue audi

Adding a tax on the 'services' portion is exactly what this bill does. Mass has also had sales tax on the 'canned software' itself for years.

I don't honestly know how I could disagree with you more. Your definition of a 'bizarre' world equates to my version of an ideal world. How dare people question media? How dare people think for themselves instead of acceptin

I want data, and analysis of data, and the initial conditions required to produce said data. If you don't provide that, you are not providing scientific value. Rather, you're writing an opinion piece that can only ever be as acc

I expect an appeal to data to qualify my determination of truthiness, which the article lacks. That is, after all, the way of science.

The response to this is a great example of how far Hacker News has fallen. The readership here appears to be in a state of believing what The Rolling Stone says in place of actual scientific research. If you want an example of how intellec

Your statement is ridiculous. I could say anything and argue it should be judged on it's own merit, where are the sources? There were zero citations in this article.

Why would I even read a science article from 'The Rolling Stone' and presume there is any validity to it? That isn't to say it isn't true, it may well be, but seriously, find a better source.

Sounds very familiar. Out of curiousity, since I've never actually met someone with the same type of experience, do you ever have trouble "shutting your brain off"? e.g. sleep issues, etc.
