Yes, but its usually not worth the time to include all parasitics in a model until you get to very high frequency work. Professional circuit/PCB designers already know roughly what the issues are going to be and can order of magnitude

That usually doesn't help as a large source of the problematic parasitics is contact between the part's leads and the 'grippers' inside the breadboard. Lead diameter, corrosion, 'gripper' spring strength, etc a

I wonder if it models the terrible parasitics of a real breadboard. I imagine it would be really annoying for beginners to build an IR receiver (or whatever) with the software, have it working perfectly, then try to build it on a real bread

Memory and '64bit math' aren't really the drivers here, 64bit archs generally have a lot more registers and allow better packing of SIMD instructions. Both can give large performance increases, particularly the later when a l

That wasn't GP's point. GP went on a very hyberbolic rant about 50" screens and how no one uses laptops. I agree the site's design sucks even when it works as intended and could scale better, but it works just fine on s

Not really informed here but I would venture a guess that 'perfect separation of concerns' causes a performance hit. In the backend web dev world you can usually suck that up by making the load parallelizable across servers, somet

Many companies cheap out on the supporting electronics. In particular single-link DVI is electrically compatible with HDMI but is limited to ~1920 x 1200 @ 60Hz. Basically instead of properly implementing HDMI they route a single-link DVI

I don't really disagree, but Linus's point, which I agree with, is that C99's implementation is 'better' but is still pretty bad, i.e. 'bool' is still a mask for 'int' and as a result array'

Consider a simple bit mask operation, assume 8 bit ints for the sake of brevity: Prior to C99, assuming you use the mentioned typedef for bool: bool a = someInt & 0x02 'a' will be 0x02 if the bit is set. In C99, bool
