I am seriously considering a look at KDE 6. I've kind of settled on Gnome plus some extensions (arc menu and dash to panel) over years, but they don't really give me exactly the feel I want, and the extensions I use may or may no

…As I golf, swim, garden and woodwork… I sort of understand it, but dammit, I’m enjoying my life. I think we exist in a world inundated with chemicals. Don’t do these activities and I bet you there is some other disease that gets an increas

I think fetish is a bit strong, though maybe somebody gets their jollies from it. I just find hand work to be more rewarding. If I was making things for a profit, then yes, I would spend the money to get to something that does tasks faste

It was what my teacher recommended. I think with the right sharpening technique you can make anything work for you, including a harbor freight plane. Just be prepared to do a lot of up-front work to make it work. Then be prepared to shar

I learned how to use Japanese Dozuki saws for dovetails over western style saws. Also, because woodworkers in Japan still use them regularly, acquiring saws of Japanese origin are significantly more affordable. Ironically, I prefer pre-Wor

Been off the HP bandwagon for a while. My wife mistakenly bought one of their printers and it just stopped working one day until we paid for a monthly subscription. I had to recycle it. Nobody wanted to buy something that required a subs

As a parent, I love watching all the episodes. My 5 year old also loves watching it. One of the few good children shows that has great entertainment with great values for all. My favorites are always the grannies ("Oh no, my coins!&q

Fractional scaling works fine for me on Fedora 39. I've had some similar issues as others with amd stability, specifically with fwupd services, glitchy video playback, lots of amdgpu errors in the logs, etc... You can dim the fingerpr

For the non-electric, it’s pretty much a matter of aesthetics. They are manually turned on and off. I say the less plastic, the more durable. A handheld bidet requires less butt-shimmey to clean more surface area.

There was no intention of gatekeeping. I was truly curious why someone would see that configuration as a deal-breaker.

If I were building new in the north, ground-loop heat pumps make more sense, less maintenance, less trying to eek out a temperature difference. You will likely already have the equipment on-site for grading and foundation work. No need to

Note that it appears CarMD is basing this on data largely from 1995-2015. That’s well under the likely time/miles when KIA/Hyundai would have started to have engine trouble s.

I can’t speak for their EV line, but no media is talking about how crappy their engines are. I won’t touch a KIA or Hyundai and I have zero qualms speaking up about it. My brother and I both needed new engines after 50,000 miles with norm

You aren’t stopping by slamming the breaks with chains, onspots, or neither. There will still need to be tire rotation to control direction. I don’t recall which was worse. Fact is snow and ice requires a lot more of everything to drive

Fedora software is typically newer. I enjoy using it over Ubuntu, but my work experience kind of influenced me to be more comfortable with Fedora over Ubuntu or others. It just works well for me, but that could be my years of using it.

Some are lit all night. Some are turned off at night. Planes landing after hours can sometimes use a radio frequency to turn on lights remotely for a time to land. Not sure if all work the same, but it is possible. Edit: It is called Pi
