Probably not really losing money, depends on the cost of bandwidth. Since CF has purchased tons of pipes, it doesn't cost them that much to feed slightly more traffic into it.

Correct, even pypy provides the JIT, but it's missing in CPython. The performance is almost always the pain point of python, when compared to any web languages except ruby.

Until you need to talk to db, where you may want to have a persistent connection, so hacks required in php-fpm to support it.

Fork is kind of expensive in most OS, even it's relative cheap compared to start a new process from scratch, but still much slower than few function calls.

I was using adopt jdk since that's much easier to download the jdk (especially jre) for Windows and Linux. The new Adoptium didn't git a jre build, which is sad :(

This reminds me that google drive used to support hosting static site directly from a folder, as well as dropbox. Later all those online storage platforms dropped that feature.

300MB onload, dropped to 240MB after idling for few minutes. Are you sure it's using less than 100MB? in comparison with the post, it takes about 500MB ram, which is weird for such simple webpage. This HN page takes 40MB.

That's pretty much what I suspect from those numbers. Safari seems having constant memory usage no matter how many tabs you open. Unless its unloading inactive tabs from ram, there is no way Safari can save ram by using almost 0MB for

Only if you can DIY the adapter, I find it's a little bit hard to get pre-made ones. And I am not that confident to solder those tiny pins.
