Dutch + secure + azure = oxymoron Now that the US is a hostile nation as seen from europe trying to do anything 'securely' on azure is an utter waste of time and resources.

The flash runtime was a closed source binary riddled with security vulnerabilities with a huge attack surface running with way too much privileges. I don't think it was sandboxed at all. It was a disaster waiting to happen.

As an animator it's a shame flash is dead. As a (somewhat security conscious) internet user I'm very glad it's dead and buried.

I see 'fn void main()'. There's probably a good reasson but why the 'fn'? It doesn't really add anything because 'void main()' already communicates it's a function. The main draw of C (to me) is

Good for you it feels that way to you. But then you need to check how the LLM refactored stuff. Because (a) you never know if it's actually correct and (b) the code needs to be maintained into the future, so you need to know how it w

I wholeheartedly agree. I'm not saying LLMs are 'bad'. I'm not saying they are not useful. But to me personally they take out the fun parts from my profession. My role changes from coming up with solutions to babysitti

I'd go along with 'authoritarian' . But autocrat implies people holding on to power/ consolidating power outside the system. The EC is still democratically chosen, albeit indirectly. There is no real sign (yet) of the st

The EU is more of a bureaucracy than a real autocracy. Lots of members with veto powers and the like. There is a lot wrong with the EU (the system). Opaque power structures, backroom deals, corruption. But I wouldn't call it an autocr

I don't see anybody called out by name. To me saying 'product X is so bad, it's coded by monkeys' is not really a personal insult to a specific coder, but a decrying of a company. Hell, if I would be a github engineer I&

I think it's healthy, even necessary, to utterly distrust microsoft (or any large compny, for that matter). And while I don't think it's a-ok to call an individual microsft employee a monkey by name I think it IS a-ok to say

All companies are 'a group of people'. But that's not how you treat them. You should treat the individual employees of microsoft as the people they are. You should treat microsoft as a whole as the evil entity it is (TBF they

The problem with 'something like SDL, but 3D' very quickly turns into a full blown engine. There's just such a combinatorial explosion of different ways to do things in 3D compared to 2D that 3D 'game engine' is eit

Amen to that! I think I remember there was some communication between ID and Charles Sandmann about CWSDPMI, so even though it's worded a bit strange for an open source project there's probably some thruth in it? Also a bit strang

That's true in theory. But as you can see in practice is that google does very little to protect their users, while F-Droid at least tries . Which shows that the whole 'security' rigmarole by google is bullshit.
