My sister has a ton of allergies but perfect teeth and I have terrible teeth but no allergies :-)

The question is whether it's real collaboration or "Collaboration" with an open office, noise and everybody wearing headphones.

From what I know for a long the OS division who writes Windows has been at war with the developer division who writes .NET and refused to use .NET. I think it has gotten a bit better recently.

It always infuriated me that MS usually wasn't using the tools they gave to developers for their own stuff. I think it has got a little better in the last years. Now they seem to be using UWP to some degree. But before that they didn&

This sounds horrible at first look but I would like to see how this looks in the real world. I assume management is part of that circle too, right?

I grew up there and the doctors I knew had very nice houses and cars. Maybe they were not as rich as of US doctors but certainly pretty well paid.

I meant something like “why did you spend less time in front of your computer”. It doesn’t really matter . My point was that management will pick a simple metric and micromanage people for that metric without considering that there may be

So let’s raise rates by these 58.7 billion so hospitals don’t lose money. That’s small change compared to how much the country spends on medical.

At a minimum a lot of money would be saved by standardized billing practices and costs. If Medicare pays too little then reimbursement could be adjusted. It would lead to more transparency and less bureaucracy. I think that’s how it works i

Stuff like this may start with good intentions but in the end management will almost always transform it into micromanagement hell. Management will ask you "Why did you spend less time on X than the average worker?" but if you giv

This would be a good bill. Devices like Alexa should never transmit conversations back to Amazon's servers but all processing should be done locally. They should learn to train their system without real user data.

Information is power. In my company the financial guys also have a very regular promotion schedule compared to R&D where you are pretty much stuck after a few years.

There is definitely a psychological problem. When I had a high deductible plan I always set the max aside but considering the potential cost of a doctors visit I often hesitated. 1000 dollars is still 1000 dollars even if you have set them

Totally agree. I always think that negotiating a salary as a company accountant must be pretty easy because you know exactly what’s going on. That’s why I don’t understand that a lot of employees are against salary transparency. Maybe they

I have the feeling that's how IT is done at my company. They have a huge number of outsourced contractors in India and the US and not very many people who really understand technology and can move things forward.
