I own one and can confirm they are quite nice. Still though, you aren’t getting machining level tolerances (0.001”) on a FDM machine no matter how hard you try.

Yeah this is just a thing you have to design around while using FDM printers, as others have mentioned. I really like melting in threaded inserts if you need threads, otherwise use a drill bit or reamer. If you need super tight tolerances (

Nice! I bet this feels good for the team after the almost year between 0.4 to 0.5. Hopefully they take some time off this winter!

"Despite 50 years of progress, the software industry remains years — perhaps decades — short of the mature engineering discipline needed to meet the demands of an information-age society"

A coding session usually implies something unrelated to algorithms. Whiteboarding is usually much more than "jotting down an algorithm".

You can do this with xbar [0] (which is also just a super cool app). Looks like someone even made one specifically for checking the CPU throttling speed [1] [0] - https://xbarapp.com/docs/plugins/System.html [1] -

I have this same exact fan! And the remote recently stopped working so I was thinking of doing something really similar to this. Glad to see it worked out.

It's open source and designed to be modular/expandable. What's stopping you from building one to fit your needs? Here's some pictures[0] of people building larger scale ones: - 10x20' inside a greenhouse - 1.5x18m o

Happy to see this get some attention! I've been following it for the last 6ish years, and it's been cool to see their progress. I think a few commenters are missing the point of this project. It's not a commercial robot and i

Agreed. It seems to me, without knowing anything about their union, that it would be in their best interest to let umps to get fired for performance reasons, as opposed to getting replaced by robo umps. Maybe this is a bargaining chip ploy

Thanks for the detailed response! I checked out the RFC repo posted by nindalf, and I was wondering if you could explain (very briefly) the issue tagging scheme? Do the "A-" tagged issues mean they're active? Edit: For more c

If you don't mind me asking - what goes into implementing a feature like this in Rust? Asking as a complete noob in language design/implementation.

It's not as unique as it used to be. Neither is their DLS printing technique. They also have an insane valuation [0], so I'm not sure if they are really that under appreciated. For example Origin [1], which was just bought by Stra

I setup Tailscale for my home server the other day, can vouch for how disgusting it is. I thought it would take at least an hour, but no, took about 5 minutes. Was, literally, physically taken aback (in a good way). Highly recommend it.

I don't fully grasp assembly, instruction sets, and how CPUs work so pardon the silly questions. I think I understand 1) as since they know the width they can more accurately divide the instructions to more parallel executers (whatever
