Note that the post is 2 years old. Much may have (and probably has) changed since then. I’m not sure why this is relevant to post now?

I love my Kinesis Advantage 2 and would never describe it as old fashioned! If anything it has a look that follows it’s function and happens to not look like the sleekest thing. But one should not look at the keyboard anyway. :P

The Category Theory series by Bartosz Milewski is great, it really opens for a new way of thinking about programming in general. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLbgaMIhjbmEnaH_LTkxLI...

On the upside, that means a lot more founders are given the chance to test out their ideas. That should hopefully lead to more experimentation and faster iteration of ideas in general.

I’m much more excited about Pub/sub Lite [0], which would probably be enough for many use cases where apps are only deployed in one zone. [0] https://cloud.google.com/pubsub/lite/docs

What a pleasure to read this post! Very well written, informative, and accessible for readers of most technical levels.

It was answered, as far as I can tell: > However, local forces like gravity and the strong and even the weak nuclear force are more than sufficient to hold everything together despite this, so the expansion cannot be locally observed.

> Search -> Use Bing, then DuckDuck Go, and if still not good results, then Google Why not use DDG first? I switched to it in the beginning of 2020, have almost never had to fallback to Google.

Not unconstructive at all, just uncomfortable. Awareness to what is happening to our planet is key! Taking down forests is unconstructive. :)

I’ve been recommended the book “The Raytracer Challange” [0] which let’s you implement a raytracer in the language of your choice by only giving you the expected results and test cases in a TDD fashion. Super creative way of learning! [0]

I was surprised to notice that Nautilus does not use HTTPS. I wonder what the thinking (or lack of) behind that is?

I learnt Dvorak on regular Qwerty keyboards many years ago. Very effective for not looking! Highly recommended if you want to learn another layout.

The sad part about capitalism is that it’s working so well because we exploit and (ab)use the earth in such an efficient way. There has to be some more balance to this aspect for the human race to be truly sustainable.

It’s always possible to have a remote control station with extremely well trained emergency pilots to take over in those case. That of course requires a very reliable remote control system.

Thanks for linking to the past discussion, the climate crisis needs as much attention as it can get! Let’s all try to limit our footprint and put pressure on the governments and companies to change.

I have not checked the source, but I would guess that the lighting is pre-baked into textures, which are then simply blended with the sliders.

I wonder how long it will be, if ever, until we’ll have a self service site for GDPR that shows all holders of data with the ability for the user to retrieve and/or delete their data? It would also be interesting if EU could provide so

Great news, I’ll continue to use Safari as my main browser (have done so the last 10 years). I’m becoming more and more skeptical to Google, just a shame that GCP is such a nice cloud platform.

Very important topic. If more ppl were aware of how they give feedback we would benefit a lot; both online and in our workplaces.
