Cool tip! However I don’t think I would have the motivation to do a good job in that (and sadly no time for it).

Very true that we sit by our screens way too much. Any reasonable work away from it is probably for the best. On this note I would like to share a really good tip (but slightly out of topic) that I got in the comments on some HN post some t

I had to look up what K&R was but makes sense after some searching. That book is probably worthwhile for lots of other reasons, even if I program in Go for most tasks. Thanks for the pointer!

Thanks! Will definitely check that out. I know I have stumbled in there before, but not having used the service I have not really looked around too much.

Good suggestion! Do you have any technical docs that stand out as extra good in your opinion?

Thanks for the literature tips, will definitely get one of the books right away. Will also learn more about Practical Style as I haven’t heard about that.

Shameless plug for my employer Einride. We are building a almost driverless truck (AD with remote safety driver). Really cool company to work for. https://www.einride.tech/pod Edit: Driverless clarification.

The CB808 eurorack module from Tiptop Audio is almost a perfect replica I believe: https://tiptopaudio.com/808-2/#cb808

This technique is used a lot in eurorack modules for firmware updates. For example: https://github.com/pichenettes/avr-audio-bootloader

Similar to how the GC has become faster and faster with each version, we can expect the generics implementation to be too. I wouldn’t pay much attention to conclusions about performance from the initial release of the feature. The Go team i

Exactly, I’m surprised this would gain traction. UUIDs are much smaller when packed into bytes. Notion seems to use UUIDs without hyphens in their links, and it works just fine.

I would guess that the single biggest ergonomical win comes from a split keyboard, where the hands are no longer angled outward. Any other feature (staggering, thumb keys, bowled wells etc) would give further, but much smaller, improvements

Absolutely! And the ligatures is definitely a nice-to-have, not a must. I really enjoy Alacritty and use it every day. The performance is amazing!

Ah! The “classic” ligature issue. Have been following that for a while. Kind of given up hope that there will ever be any support for it. Edit: punctuation

If you care about the climate crisis you should avoid participating in sales like this. It’s a very unsustainable pattern that must go away. Buy what you need when you need it (or even better borrow it), don’t buy a bunch of things that hap

I thought the article would do the opposite; leverage the Go runtime but keep writing in Ruby syntax. How wrong I was, this is bananas, not sure I would go down that path!

As a Golang developer using Kubernetes wanting to get started with Erlang/Elixir I found this read very encouraging! Sounds like a good combo. Anyone who have experiences to share with this setup?
