There is a vibrant community of people experimenting with old vintage lenses. Mirrorless full frame camera's are relatively easy to make/get adapters for. See Mathieu Stern for inspiration. [1] [1]: https://www.youtube

"Calculus made Easy" comes to mind. Probably not the best suggestion here, but it is available on Gutenberg. [1] [1]: https://www.gutenberg.org/files/33283/33283-pdf.pdf

Strictly personal observation. I was a press photographer when I was a student as a side job, shooting film. I used to like early mobile phone photos because their (horrendous) defects and imperfections could be used to their advantage. Par

Every 6 months or so I do the vim<->sublime<->emacs dance. I really want to like emacs and really believe in its central tenants. Its not that it is hard, but I just can't get over the fact that it seems to not work very we

I've been pondering on building something like this for a while. For now, I've settled on sphinx because it can be easily exported to dash, and tied in to an alfred workflow for search.

Shakir is a fantastic technical writer. I love that he also traces modern ideas back to their older roots and includes the references.

Almost obligatory, but Stanford cs231n [1] lets you implement a complete (deep) neural network from scratch [2] before venturing into pytorch/tf. Its super fun. [1] http://cs231n.stanford.edu/ [2] http://cs2

I absolutely loved my 2011 Air which always was a great combination for me with a linux server for all the heavy lifting. This week I will somewhat begrudgingly swap out the Air for a 2015 15 inch MBP, hoping it will last me long.
