To be honest, each time Apple has a record quarter (which has been quite often lately) folks doubt that they will sustain that growth, but they’re almost always proven wrong. Where is Apple slowing? In Macs, which see only modest increases

I agree that Office for Mac 2011 is a large improvement, but it still doesn’t feel quite right to me. Have you seen Apple’s iWork suite? http://www.apple.com/iwork/ It provides the most commonly used functionality from Word, Excel, and Po

Perhaps I’m alone in this, but I first read the headline as claiming that Microsoft itself is not committed to Windows Phone 7, which clearly is not the issue discussed here (they do seem very determined to succeed).

From the original NYT report [1], the discussions seem to be less about acquisition, and more about “Apple and its control of the mobile phone market and how the two companies could partner in the battle against Apple.” Indeed, acquisition

Not a bad idea. Of course, corporate phones require significant support and build-out of infrastructure, whereas a consumer device just works , but RIM made a similar move with their buy-one-get-one-free offer in Spring 2009 for Blackberri
