I went to salsa dancing for about 1.5 years. Pretty much every guy there who was a regular was either a programmer or an accountant. One day I asked my teacher about this. She said it wasn't just limited to my city, all over the world it

I think its completely fine to have quizzes as part of the process but asking people to spend several hours on one before they´ve even talked to the company is a bit much IMO.

Wow, sometimes companies are just out of their minds with the hoops they put up. I would definitely not invest that much time into a job application, especially before an initial interview to know if I even want to work there.

The "if everyone did this" argument is such a poor way to argue a point. I'm sure you would find the vast majority of people think being a doctor is a good thing - you help people, you're well paid and respected. Yet, if everyone was a doc

It doesn't matter. Just pick a topic that you are currently interested in and start reading. Go to amazon.com, type in the subject and find a book with the highest ratings that sounds interesting. Sometimes I read about new languages I wa

Yes, I was in Tokyo this past weekend when the big one happened. I was feeling aftershocks all weekend long. What I didn't know was just how close the big 7.9 aftershock was to Tokyo.

You can move the map without zooming and the circles follow. I think the circles are quite proportional. I have a friend of a friend in Osaka who said they did feel the 9.0M one all the way down in Osaka so that circle is correct. Edit: Ac

If you're not aware, Japan's broadcaster NHK has an English-translated broadcast - http://www3.nhk.or.jp/nhkworld/ or http://www.ustream.tv/channel/nhk-world-tv I would suggest watching it to get a Japanese view on things. Watching it y

Agree. I work from home and prefer it but I can definitely see how it might not be suitable for everyone. My friend worked from home for a year and he remarks that he could only do max 6 hours of work per day. It's surprising to find out

From what I've read about polyphasic sleep, it doesn't seem to be best for humans. A lot of people have difficulty with it. I've come to the conclusion that people are biphasic. I think people perform their best with a long night's sleep

Instead of travelling from point A to point B, go live in another place like Thailand. Costs are cheap (you can live well on $500 a month) and you get to experience more of the culture rather than just travelling through.

I agree. Great response. So much advice a person like this would receive would be "do this" or "do that." If you don't have the urge to do anything perhaps that is a good thing. Your mind/body is trying to tell you something. It may be
