Never seen that one in the wild in 30 years of writing HTML. Thanks for sharing!

This needs to know what services I have access to before it makes a suggestion at the very least.

Firefox and Firefox Focus plus whatever other apps they have are on the iOS and iPadOS stores at least, maybe others.

I always remember the back alley scenes in Back to the Future part 2 where you can see stacks of them in the trash. https://imgur.com/a/rWkJRSa

When I heard the repo was closed I removed it and installed hyfetch on my computers. Worth looking into if you can help that project.

My own poor wording.. I'm talking about avoiding the App Store not avoiding the license.

It’s really only practical for dev tools or niche open source desktop apps.

So this is part of my current job: testing things on older hardware or less powerful hardware plus older but still used browsers, especially on mobile.

Only if you want to distribute via the App Store. There’s also TestFlight and distribution of source code I believe if you want to avoid that.

You don’t have to do any of that for a native Mac app. Signing it is a good idea but not required and you can distribute it from your own website or even from GitHub/Lab where you can tell people it’s not notarized and they’ll need to

So many good machines: the Amstrad CPC range, a whole slew of Sega consoles, the early MSX stuff and of course the Tatung Einstein. 3 inch disk machines of the world unite!

> It is always great to have period software on period hardware! Really is. This is why I keep a load of old hardware around. Stuff like Mac OS 9 should be run on real hardware and same for old MS-DOS.

Seems quite expensive for 500GB of storage. Dropbox offers 3TB for around the same price. An extra 1TB is 59 Euro a year.

Yeah that’s something they’d want you to pay for. I totally get why CentOS was useful. I was briefly involved with Rocky when it first was getting started.

Yeah RHEL has had a gratis developer license from their website for maybe a decade now? Before that I would pay $49 a year for it.

I don’t have the link anymore. I’m on another machine now so don’t have access to the browser history. But there’s lots of no embed videos on YouTube. You can also just try it with one of your own videos.

A small link buried in an embed widget which doesn’t even appear on every video is not sufficient credit. A YouTube video has a description field, plus a title and the channel name. All of these should be shown at the top of the page, plus

I tried it with a video I have set to not allow embedding. Summary just like any other video but just the standard box when embedding is disabled. You should try it for yourself with one of your own YouTube videos from your own channel.
