Thanks dude, working on it and I'm really happy with the core after two years of building and testing. We've just finished building our own data centre, a nice steady influx of customers are buoying us up, and we recently hired t

Hey Evan, as with Rubyforge the last 7-odd years, you'd be welcome to a free account on Bytemark's UK cloud platform bigv.io, or dedicated servers, or a mix on the same VLAN. We're a Ruby shop ourselves, and we host a fair c

As a business owner & pre 1.0 Rails adopter, I completely agree. It's never been the goal of Rails to support programmers who need long, conservative development cycles. Improvements get that much harder that much more quickly. Ha

A desktop system with a novel thermal design is being packed in tightly in a way that the manufacturer probably hasn't tested, and in a way that's going to be hard to diagnose or fix? He who dares I guess :) What do people use ho

BigV has been running since 2011, it's only months younger, but built on expertise from our old VM platform that's 10 years older. Xen and KVM both drew from the same code, i.e. qemu, but qemu now has all the important patches fro

I don't see why YAML is a dangerous serialization format - the other type deserializations in the code seem sane and limited enough. (I wouldn't use YAML over e.g. JSON these days but I'm fixing up quite old projects)
