That's not how antitrust works. At all.

Yup, I will. Because the entire piece is disingenuous and self congratulatory.

Let's be honest here and admit that that piece was probably tacked on just to make it sound better. Try again.

That's... not a monoculture. Why? Because someone's identity is not defined by what they wear or where they travel too. It's myopic and childish to think so.

If they worked better we would too. But you can't have threads without also stopping people from throwing one-liners into an ongoing channel. You need both.

So much better than Slack. It's crazy to me that a never-ending stream of chatty one-liners is what people think as "productive" Experiment for slack lovers: Start talking about something in a channel with ~20 people. Have an

Really well thought out. I love this. I've never realized 80% content on the first page is completely useless. I think adding the readme to above the commits/stats would be a good idea. Perhaps make it ~500px and expandable.

I'm sure the people who live their wouldn't call their culture "bankrupt" Such a critique shows more about you and your inflated sense of yourself than anything else.

But, it's not monoculture. At all. You are making a judgement call with that. An extremely wrong one at that.

Eliminating all listings without a host present would solve 99% of these problems. That's what the site sells itself as, anyway. Problem is there isn't much money to be made there. Or just do a tiny bit of host/property verif

Because renting != hotel. There is a huge different between how a tourist treats a building/apartment/neighborhood and a resident does. There are many good reasons why hotels have regulations. Mini-hotel platforms are not subject

More bad behavior that is encouraged by the AirBnb leadership. Disgusting. They could solve this problem overnight with their software but choose not to because it makes ~70% of their revenue, while at the same time claiming they are a &quo

Basic navigation from screen to screen shouldn't require any research. It doesn't for native platforms. Facebook doesn't provide a built-in solution, which speaks volumes. Core navigation still doesn't "just work&

Appreciate all the work FB is doing here, but RN is fundamentally never going to be a solution for most teams. The compounding problems (JS/swift/obj-c/java) and their dependencies in the build process demand that you hire na

Please get rid of the hidden menu + hamburger button. It's horrible, horrible UX. Screens are wide enough to show a menu. Esp for teaching, you want all the options and tools freely available.

Yup, it's all about the trade off. Space, cheap rent, 2 hr commutes vs high rent, 20 min commutes, walkability. I'd imagine it changes over time.

Comparing the type systems of Java and Typescript shows a lack of understanding of the differences between them. Modern type-safe language have numerous things that Java never had and probably never will. Any project of size will need types

The tests asserting certain properties are just type checks, albeit weak and less-safe ones. If you have to make sure a property exists then that is 100% not a logic concern. It's a check on the structural integrity of the module. You

Any project of substantial size needs types. Either explicit (TS) or implicit (JS with tons of type checking and assertion garbage). TS makes this much, much better.

Incorrect. They are removing apartments from the supply, thus raising rents. A couple airbnbs in a huge apartment building have many external costs that are carried by the other tenants.

I have an axe to grind against mini-hotels that operate without regulation that raise rents for everyone while providing massive money to a small number of interests. So yeah.

Amazing what a company can do when they ignore regulations and simply extract wealth out of our communities. 80% of their profit comes from huge corporate listings yet they advertise themselves as a "home-sharing" site. Nonsense.
