What are the advantages of isolates vs running multiple JVM processes other than avoiding slightly higher memory usage and some small context switch overhead on IPC - which should be negligent as presumably communication between isolated co

You can do it with custom elements, e.g. <dom-calc> const p = document.createElement('button'); p.innerText = 'hi'; p.onclick = () => alert('hi'); return p;

Would it really help in this case? I believe the HLK-signing is enforced by Windows, not UEFI. Uploading your own cert to UEFI won't change that.

Most of JetBrains platform is open source (Apache license). Only the language plugin is proprietary. It's not perfect but better than your typical closed source software.

Isn't option 1 more like compile .NET interpreter to WASM and ship with your dlls resulting in huge download and terrible runtime performance?

I tried WebVM but it feels a bit slow. Do you think performance could be improved by supporting native wasm binaries? Something like wasm-*-linux compilation target.

Not aware of any actual grpc websites but given grpc-web has 6.5k stars on github something must be out there. Google's websites frequently use binary-like formats where json is just an array of values with no properties, and most of t

This sadly does not help if js code is minified/obfuscated and data is exchanged using some binary/binary-like protocol like grpc. Unfortunately this is increasingly common. The only long term way is to parse visible text.

Good old RCS is pretty useful for versioning random files: ci -l .yourfile And that's it. No setup necessary! If you ever outgrow it, you can easily convert to more modern version control.

One could say both are native Windows UI toolkits. Kind of similar to when Apple shipped Carbon and Cocoa.

Which parts exactly? If anything explorer.exe has never been more native (it used to have a lot of HTML elements in Win98 to XP). I think new control panel and start menu are WinUI based.

If there is no way to tell Wayland application that it should scale by fraction then application can't render with such scale, no? This leads me to assumption that fractional scaling happens at compositor. By native scaling I mean abso

Interesting. I gave up on Gnome/Linux long time ago but was watching a relevant wayland bug [0] in the hopes it will be fixed one day but it seems to be still open. Maybe I've been watching a wrong bug? [0] https://gitl

Unless something changed Wayland does not support native fractional scaling and instead renders at nearest higher integer scale then does bitmap scaling down giving blurry output (compared to native fractional scaling as in Windows).

Not sure why people keep claiming this but it's not true. Attach devtools and you'll see everything is divs and spans, including source code. The only canvas element is minimap.

The backup is a reflink copy as per readme - that means data blocks are shared with live filesystem and don't occupy extra space but there's probably quite a bit of metadata.

Nuget has the same issue - it can execute arbitrary code during installation. Perhaps it's being exploited already but nobody noticed? Regardless, even in case of package managers that don't have install scripts (e.g. Maven) one c
