But this doesn't happen in native UIs. I think this is because JS event handlers are asynchronous and not running within native event loop.

Is there any way to reduce lag between pointer and draggable? I once tried throttling updates via requestAnimationFrame but it didn't help much. Perhaps movement prediction?

The problem is structs and function signatures of standard APIs can have differences for each os/version combination.

The maps themself aren't any better in my neighborhood (or rather the the places on the map). I tried contributing once but OpenStreeMap ux and data model/tagging taxonomy is a convoluted mess too.

Doesn't even scroll properly (no acceleration). The UX of all open source mapping apps suck really bad, not even most basic interactions are done right.

On the other hand C/C++ APIs only truly exist in textual format. Without going through C you don't have access to type definitions (you have to redeclare them in Java) or macros (sometimes not even impossible). Structure layout mi

Most browsers are mobile so that won't work :) I was hoping there is some technical explanation how the compilation step works (especially what do they do to event handlers) but their documentation is very light on details.

Perhaps simple language and lack of abstractions lead to less code reuse so you can more easily tell where a particular error is coming from without context (less possible code paths).

Ages ago XFS had a rather nasty behavior in case of power failure - any files opened for write would be deleted after restart. From what I remember this was by design. Has this changed?

Is there any work to make records actually usable out of the box? Things like copying or creating derived records are a huge pain (or slight pain with code generators) while other languages have solved this long ago (even JS and C#).
