Ok, so you notice you lose "some" meaning. The question is, how much? One way to find out is to read something the fast way and then the slow way and pay attention to how much is new the second time. Have you tried this, or per

The way this works on Windows (I think) is that internally, "cut" means "copy file path to clipboard", and "paste" means "move file from old place to new place". Thus, if you want to cut and paste fr

Ok, so it sounds like you're objecting to Visual Studio, not to .net itself. Or not quite?

Indeed, better late than never! Maybe "up arrow" instead of space would work? Way less convenient though. I wonder how you're lucky enough to always need the first dir.

Don't people usually mention both? This one didn't. But even the full un-minified source code of this one is just a bit over a kilobyte, so perhaps the author didn't feel the need to minify in the first place.

What on earth does spacebar do? I've been using windows for decades and I have no clue! I just tried it right now and still have no clue!

Shouldn't the docs mention that alt-space already does something on windows? Or is it assumed that whoever doesn't know about the default functionality won't miss it? Or maybe everyone knows?

This is madness. I've actually had the "opposite" problem. Ever since Win10 came out, my Win7 machine doesn't bother announcing when updates are available. I have to remember to install them myself ever "patch Tue

I don't have enough karma to get a down vote button. Even if I did, I'm not sure that voting on your own posts is allowed. I up voted you instead. Yes, the title is a play on the llvm post. I could be wrong about this, but the

Because once you ship it without definition checking, three years later it's too late to add it. Too many people will have written code that will break. This is one of those unfortunate language features that you only get one chance

There's no need to worry about a runtime check. Let DEBUG be a compile time constant, and the optimizer will remove the check. C++ seems to be (very) slowly moving in the direction of using the whole language at compile time: see how
