I grew up in Mississippi but left for good about 5 years ago. Whenever I go back it seems so desolate with no sense of hope. I can’t speak to Jackson (largest city and capital) but in the rural area I’m from, the state seems like it is comp

I’m not a teenager but I thought it was pretty crazy that the girl at the beginning of the article couldn’t put her phone down to go to sleep. Like I said, I’m not a teenager, but I don’t think this is how it is in America.

I don’t misunderstand you, I’m also a Christian. But I’m also critical of how I have seen other Christians act. My words aren’t a slight against all Christians because I know real ones are out there. But I also am not only referring the to

Have you tried using your onboard video card during install and installing AMD drivers after you get in? I’ve never actually used AMD components so maybe they make it more difficult to get the drivers or something.

This was a pretty good article, I’m surprised it came from the History channel. I guess there’s a big difference between the TV channel and their online presence. The thing that seems crazy to me is that so many of these people believed it

I’ve never had to try “usual” tricks to get Ubuntu installed, and I’ve installed it many times in the last 12 years. In fact, I’ve been installing Linux for around 18 years total and the instal has always been pretty smooth from what I can

Looking at some similar stats here right outside Atlanta. 30 year mortgage with 3,800ft^2 for $2.1k. Commute is 30m-40m. Seconding KS, though. I've only been a handful of times and I really like it.

I've been using .NET Core since RC1 and first deployed to production when version 1 was released. From what I've seen, all new projects are being done in .NET Core, and legacy apps are not really being migrated over. .NET Core 3 m

I really don't understand how you're having binding redirect issues with .NET core. They're usually caused by a mixup between local packages and the GAC, which .NET core doesn't use. When you publish a .NET core applicat

To be honest, I was fatigued the moment it looked like just another programming language. After seeing there is absolutely no documentation, I don't even understand why anyone would upvote this.

Sounds like you’re between a rock and a hard place if the Finnish economy isn’t robust enough to support software workers without degrees and you can’t afford to move. I know nothing about Finland but it sounds like you might need to get an

For some reason everywhere I’ve ever worked the POs get offices and devs don’t. Why are we treated like sweat shop workers? Why don’t devs get their own offices? We are paid so much money but have to sit in open offices or cubes like call c

Whether or not this person hates America is debatable. Regardless, if we just ignored everyone we disagreed with I don’t think we’d make much progress in general. In fact, ignoring people who disagree with you seems to be a huge problem in

For me it was The Defining Decade. After years of drug and alcohol abuse it really put into perspective how I was wasting my life. I would say it’s largely the reason I went back to school in my late 20s. My life has done a complete 180 in
