Totally, just try EVE for a bit to blow some time. Less sarcastically, it killed a couple weeks of my life, but it does have a natural ending point. If you don't get into modding or ramp up the difficulty it's not too bad to pull

Why, and what does it mean, for Nvidia to announce fiscal results a year ahead of time. Is it just promise to sell chips in advance, so that's how far it's booked, do they own a Time Machine...?

I do if that tool is going to be more centralized then what it replaces. Seems like a pretty facile argument. Bicycles and helicopters don't need to be trained on ridiculously largest datasets on ridiculously large super computers.

Ok, but people won't use it just for recipes. If it's successful and common place google will monetize it. The beginning could just be "see this related product or service." Which won't mess with the content. Perhap

Divorce rates were lower "back in the day" because women had far less options. Maybe we just aren’t all meant to find that one person and stay with them until we die. Maybe, just maybe, we were meant to have a community to find me

I wonder that about many of the corporate web frameworks out there too. The guides and evangelist say it's so easy but they have the most dog shit docs out there but hey, plenty of training you can pay for to get certified. It made me

Hey man, take that up with the post I read 5 years ago on HN and didn’t link to. More seriously, if I find the time I’ll try to link to it. I’m sure there’s a better way to paint things now but I think we often don’t for appliances.

What do you do to your fridges??? I'm in my 30's and have never had to replace a fridge. Never had a "modern" fridge except as a kid. All looked like low budget fridges from the 80's or 90's.

Some of those fridges are refurbished and still around[1]! It's my dream to own one someday when my fridge from the 90's dies. Every couple years there's a HN link to a blog post about how those appliances were built better i

I’m no Xbox fan but I always felt the appeal was it was almost a palindrome and it’s a box to play games on. X has a cool sound and mystery so I think it works when paired with someone that fits. X-men is one for me at least. Brand-less unp

It's funny cause those talks happened when labor was relatively cheaper, similar with the "we'll just replace fast food workers with robots." Now that labor is even less readily available we're talking about it... l
