Actually, the right to privacy has nothing to do with whether a law is just or unjust. I think we'll see an element of that creep into the law as they very concept of privacy erodes. But the basic idea behind privacy in the Fourth Amendment

But your private property isn't necessarily protected. For example, police don't need a warrant to fly a helicopter 50 feet above your fenced in back yard while they're searching for marijuana plants. The court says they're in the common ai

This was inevitable. The Supreme Court held a long time ago that the government can surreptitiously put a transmitter on a car and track it. (Think 1970s cop movie.) GPS is a clear extension of that rule. The 9th Circuit was just following

Well... I just saw some news special on how Craigslist has become a hub for prostitution. So you'll have that. You'll just have to keep policing it. But I don't think most people will mind a bit of NSFW content.

My mom home-schooled my little sister and it was wonderful. My sis left grade school below average on all standardized tests. She was home-schooled for a few years. I'm pretty sure she only did about two or three hours of school work per da

lsc makes some good points. One of the biggest, which I'll reiterate because it's so big: Run your business like a business! Hold board meetings, even if it's just you and your mom. Keep separate bank accounts, even if it's just for 40 buck

Could someone remind me of what the theory is behind protecting directors from shareholders. In other words, why does the Republican Party always favor entrenched management and directors over the actual, legal owners of the company?

So a woman with a college degree who earns $30,000 per year or more ("Career Woman") is more likely to divorce you, cheat on you, or express displeasure at the thought of having children. Wow. Compelling research. But isn't $30,000 a bit lo

Stimulus spending is nonsense and political poison? So Honda shouldn't borrow money to build a new plant but should save up until they can pay cash? Borrowing now to build productivity and cash flow later is a delicate move on such a large

Choosing a meaningful card is important to most people, I gather, even if they put it off 'till the last minute and then do it poorly. Your idea is a good one, but you absolutely must find a way to allow for that sort of personalization. If

I can sympathize. I've been at plenty of jobs where my ideas were uniformly ignored--not rejected, or outvoted: ignored. That's deflating. It makes work not just menial but downright demoralizing. And it causes the employee to stop thinking
