I don't really know Omni or their products, but I wonder from reading some comments here that while the bottom end of their market has been eaten by cheaper/free alternatives, the pro market that will happily pay $250 for a great

I've been working at remote-first companies for about the last four years, my current and previous company independently tested a bunch of video conferencing apps and both settled on zoom. It just works better than the alternatives. Ye

Here in my part of Australia apple watches are pretty rare, but I see a lot of more general fitness trackers, and plenty of Garmin watches. When I was in SF for work recently it seemed like every second person had an apple watch.

Yep, and they're sorry for the uneasiness and confusion. I'm saying they aren't going to apologise for the sacking itself, because they stand by it.

Why would they apologise? They aren't sorry they sacked this moderator. They fully stand by their decision.

General users don't give a shit about this sort of insider drama. They will continue to use the sites without even knowing this is happening.

In Android land you can buy a phone where the bootloader can be unlocked and directly flash a pre-rooted ROM rather than relying on people exploiting security vulnerabilities like this.

It's common in the "sports watch" side of things from the likes of Garmin. I'm not sure how well they do for things like the elderly falling though, they're more targeted at bike crashes and the like.

On my pixel at least you can select to use the new gestures, the previous pill-style gestures, or the old three icon method. I use the pill-style ones, because I have other actions triggered on edge swipes that I want to keep.

Go I'd consider, even if Google ditch it, the language still exists and is sufficiently entrenched to continue on. I wouldn't go near Flutter at all. Exactly the sort of thing that Google will lose interest in and stop backing lea
