Microsoft will never make Teams great, it will be just good enough that corporate bean counters won't let you pay for a competitor when you already get Teams "free".

When I decided it was time to knuckle down and learn to type properly I bought myself one of those Microsoft ergonomic keyboards for exactly that reason, to help force myself to use the correct fingers. I ended up loving it and now use a Ki

Not sure how quickly that message is getting out, mobile phone use while driving is very common here. It's _really_ noticeable when you're on a motorbike, your view is clearer, but also being a little higher you can see the phone

They've probably been working for 10 years without needing to write a sort algorithm by hand since it's built into every language these days, and get annoyed at having to re-learn it just for an interview.

I think people might just work on projects smaller than I'm used to. I set up a build on day one of a project and then just it for the next six months or year or whatever, so I really never see it as a pain point. As you say, well wort

Yeah, I'm a bit surprised by the comments like "who would want this". A phone that you can unfold into a tablet when you want more screen? It's awesome. Now I don't want this particular device, or the Samsung one, b

Personally I think just leave it to users to vote with their feet. If I think a site is too slow to load or too slow to use, I'll stop using it. If I'm happy to wait for 10Mb of js to run a web app, then let me.

I'm not sure about "scale" but Linux, as an open-source project where external actors want their code included, can push arbitrary amounts of work onto those actors with no additional cost to itself. They can say "to get

It's tough when your competition can give away their product and fund it through their bottomless pockets and money they make on other products. I used to work for a great company in the developer tooling area, one of the big players c

Cool, I work remotely, can you point a webcam at your wall of cards please? Also remember to record your tactile chats in front of the wall so the rest of the remote team can hear them.

I've done a bunch of WPF in my time, but I struggle to see what I'd use it for now. For line-of-business type apps I'd do it on the web, and for anything that had to be desktop I'd need to be really, really sure that it

I have plans to look more deeply into Vue when I have some time since so many people like it, but that's the impression I get from it, it does a heap of the stuff I didn't like about angular, why would I go back?

v1 and v2 were completely separate frameworks with essentially no upgrade path. I don't know anyone who used angular v2+ (although I'm sure many did) but have personally been on two teams who ported to react. It burned a lot of pe

Exactly. I read this thread this morning and found it a bit frustrating that is was being called a bug. This isn't a bug, it's a documented feature that still exists for backwards compatibility. You may not like it, or may not agr
