Nice design. Kudos to whoever came up with it. Forget the naysayers. People have been spoonfeed by corporate advertisers so long, they think anything that doesn't function as an effective corporate logo is flawed.

Consider that it's not a just a currency; it's also a commodity, and a tool, and possibly a few other things. IMHO it is a mistake to apply traditional notions of currency to bitcoin as it has several other non-traditional characteristics.

Just checked and my balance was ok. But it did freak me out that I couldn't see my balance before I agreed to a new user agreement which included me waiving my rights to join a class action lawsuit.

One thing that gives me confidence in the future of BTC is the constant controversy surrounding it.

My suggestion is to ignore the design feedback you're getting here. It's not that it isn't perhaps accurate; it's just not your biggest concern. I largely agree with this. As long as it's functional, let design take a back seat to communi

Sorry to hear that. Pancreatic is very difficult. I work in cancer research, and have other experience. Get multiple opinions, and find a doctor you like. If she doesn't qualify for surgery, or radiation, chemo may be the only option with d

That stuck out to me as well. It's true. I think most are very aware of the non-privacy of Facebook, and act accordingly. There is a value in more personal communication, however, I don't think an ad-based social network can deliver it.

I drifted away after they left too. There's not much personality there. It feels like Mashable, a list of announcements and articles that don't provide much insight. No soul.

I am (in part) attempting to address this discovery issue with http://hubski.com . It is a de-centralized aggregator in that submissions are public, but there are no shared pages. You get the content posted by people you follow, but also t

I think this system could work. One problem with community forums is that there is a drift to the 'majority taste'. As the population changes, so does the majority taste. This could put some drag on that drift, but you'd probably need to us

It sounds something like that to me. I am doing something similar with hubski.com, where you essentially blog into an aggregator. I like the pieces of what's here, but I think masonry is a bit overdone, I personally like a higher informatio

I have to admit, it confuses the heck out of me. I am always in fear of destroying code because the documentation part is spot-on. I read and reread, and still feel like I am working on a best guess interpretation.
