Is there a 'minimum followers' option? A tweet to 0-1 followers isn't so great. I'd try it with a PDF I sell.

This is a great idea, definitely going to use it. Yes, please cull out words that are notoriously difficult to spell, like notoriously. Smallish numbers might serve well too.

This. Detroit isn't a painting, it is an ongoing tragedy with many kids playing roles. When I was in my late teens, we used to go to parties and art shows in these abandoned buildings, even in that Packard plant. Once Gil Hill (commissioner

I feel the same way. My wife and I work downtown and walked down to the Transformers filming at lunch. It's so odd to have outsiders look at Detroit. It's both embarrassing and cathartic. I'm in AA too. Lived in MI most my life, but moved t

I am apt to agree. I think Arrington is TechCrunch; the dependency is akin to Apple and Jobs. Soul matters.

Ha. I know Grossman, the guy who runs the The Erdös Number Project. He used to publish with my friend's father.

Not that those are bad blogs, but they are very different from TC, IMO. Arrington infused TC with a 'devil-may-care' personality that made for a dramatic read. I don't think AOL (their PR dept) will be able to stomach such behavior. I think

This bums me out. A TC that can't call AOL a pile of dung isn't TC to me. I really enjoyed TC, and have a lot of respect for Michael Arrington. I don't blame him at all for cashing in. But this will decrease the quality of TC.

This is based upon a false assumption. Not every possible thing need happen given infinite time. There's an infinite number of things that can happen, and each thing that happens takes a finite amount of time to happen. Infinite time is not

Great News for MA, bad news for TC readers. I hope Mike's ego prevents them from making TC go lame. No doubt he will have a non-compete if he totally cashes out. :(

That is really too bad all around. The state of SMS is ridiculous. We go through a gateway. Certification was painfully slow, and the cost... OMFG the cost of a text. -It's as if the alphanumerals had to be mined, shipped, refined, and then

This is a good idea. I probably won't be part of the userbase, but I can imagine this being very popular. I'm going to bookmark and watch this one. Best of luck!

I agree, there seems to be much more startup advice on HN than people sharing experiences... So yes, there is too much hype. That said, I am a gainfully employed scientist with money in the bank, and I am also a hard-working co-founder. It

I understand where you are coming from, and I did hesitate for a moment before I submitted. However, here we have a link sharing forum, that evolves into a community, and that finds a voice with national scope. I believe the medium and mana

I agree with you about the generalizations. However, I think injecting humor into the current political tension is really a powerful thing. I don't agree with name-calling, but it might do us all some good to take ourselves a bit less serio

I agree. The author seems defensive, as if logical tests are not a rational basis for design. Google Search is an information service, and IMHO, it seems they maintain a healthy respect for information itself. Google feels like they let the

>Shrug. I know I was in this situation. I wanted to design a site and saw minimalism, bright colors and huge cartoons everywhere. I adapted with much restraint. :D I have to admit, I had to resist the same influences.
