Actually, there is a lot of talk of the problems, and little talk about solutions. I have a potential solution: Local whitelisting companies. Paypal and all other payment providers partner with local companies who claim that will pre-screen

How many percentage of internet users from Nigeria are scamming? It's a small minority, probably similar to the number of Americans sending spam emails. But Nigeria can be simply cancelled from the system, because it's a low income country.

They are not doing a statistical determination. There is no algorithm behind it that indicates when a country is safe to do business with. They have just switched off Nigeria. There is no appeal. There is no review.

If paypal blocks Nigeria now...how will they ever know that payment fraud from Nigeria is decreasing?

Hmm, how many paypal killers have been created? Now you want to go create a paypal killer from an african country with a low internet population, and expect big sites to support this? I think "fuck off" is an appropriate answer to people su

Nigerian issued credit/debit cards (mastercard/visa) don't work internationally, so can't be used to pay for online items.

What I dislike about the attitude of many businesses towards Nigeria is the way they just dismiss the country with a wave of their hand. Sure, there is some scam coming out of the country, but some guy just looks at the numbers and then sen

I asked a reviewer on the phone once. He said this: There are 3 levels of review (Technical, policies and X). Random reviewers test different aspects. There is also 'Escalation', which is when the reviewer is not sure and the internal polic

I think all of these show one thing: when people like what they use, they will tell everyone else. You watch an amazing short film on youtube - you tell everyone you know, and the tree grows very quickly. The good stuff bubbles to the top.

That's not correct. I have read that it's only about ~ 89% of bloggers who make them up.

I dislike such projects. It's kind of like having a showcase for the "special kids" where everyone can come and look at how "great" they are because they made some useless trinket. Build by looking people in the eye, talking and trading wit

The blog is powered by an unfeatures list - and is ugly and lacks the basic things that every wordpress blog has? Features are put in software because people pay money for them. If nobody added anything to software, or let software evolve a

It may be a bit difficult to understand, but most people in the world are constantly shouting: I exist, look over here, notice me! That's why all the kids dream of being famous. Understand it: People don't want their thoughts or their photo

I've found that in technology, it's a bad idea to use negations. If you say things that should "not be done" or "will never happen" or "is not possible", at some point in the future, someone will quote you and laugh at you.

It's like trying to model a random graph using a set of distinct y=f(x) functions. There will be a major f(x) that captures most of the movement of the graph, but the spikes and other weird happenings can be modelled by another function h(x

I have a wave account. I logged in, and I could not even figure out if the thing could send an email to a normal account. Google Wave is very hard to understand at the moment. It's something that has to be addressed.

I don't get it - why would you want to "not work"? What do you do then? If I want to sit on a beach and drink, I can do that right now - if I want to play games all day, I can also do that right now. Work is the game, if I stopped working,

Apple is a brand for consumer electronics, and that's where you see their brand. There is no 'Apple' search engine, for example. Their OS for example is not branded Apple OS, it's branded as OS X or Mac OS X.
