All of these arguments are well-aired, and the tone of the article doesn't make this particular presentation of them more useful than any of the others. I would guess a large portion of the developers actively using containers are well

I'm very sympathetic to the idea that employers started this crap, and are basically getting a taste of their own medicine. That said, I will ignore spam from recruiters I have no conversation with, or if the recruiter shows signs of a

Good point, hastily written and deserves the down votes :). I really meant to say that some people want natural vanilla, and will pay for it.

Sure, most natural flavorings have artificial substitutes, but there is a market for the natural products even if nobody could really distinguish them by taste alone.

If you let yourself get that specialized then you're always going to be one or two innovations away from a layoff. I kind of feel that anyone who inhabits a niche like that for a long time is going to be in danger of becoming a victim

This is quite cool, nice work! I'm a self-taught player and only in the last five years or so have I managed to punch through the fog and begin to understand what I'm doing. This is a great tool for visualizing scale positions and

As I said, I get why this might in fact be necessary. I simply find it dehumanizing and arbitrary and so I choose to avoid such situations. At the hospital where my wife works their review categories are graded from 1 - 3. So yeah you have

It's kind of a cynical position, actually, because embedded in it is the underlying contention that all of the attention the platform has gotten since 2015, the startups it has spawned, the resources being put into it by every major sy

Not "always." I started working with Microsoft dev tools in the late 80's and early 90's after Borland's sun began to set (in no small part because MS poached a lot of their best people). There was a time when MS wa

You could debate this all day long for various values of "sophisticated." I think the author just meant some variation on "amazingly devious."

You're using a statefulset? Here's a tip: you can delete a statefulset without deleting the pods with `kubectl delete statefulset mystatefulset --cascade=false`. The pods will remain running, but will no longer be managed by a con

My S76 laptop that I use for work has been solid in terms of functionality and reliability. I can't complain about those things. The overall build quality of the laptop is terrible. The touchpad is terrible and has poor fit and finish.
