It's pretty easy actually. Just get drunk one night and bash your head against a wall few times. This will make you forget all the keyboard shortcuts and you're free to learn a new text editor.

Because people like braces (they provide structure) and there is a risk to break backward compatibility. Granted the whole ;} = 5; syntax is not great ....

WebIDE still feels like a toy for now. Very little customization for the text editor for now. Also the browser has a shiny new dark theme but the text editor doesn't seem to support themes (and has a light theme as default).

Yeah. Goroutines not backed by real threads (afaik there's also gorountine -> os thread), those "green" threads from Ruby and fibers are just ugly hacks. Sorry but from my point of view, "real" concurrency is do

"Concurrency" at syntax level is kind of dumb anyway.

With the risk of sounding like a asshole...if you only know JS any other language will make you think differently.

Exactly. cinst paint.net This is how you should install software on any OS. If you're still hunting for downloading links you're doing it wrong.

WinMerge is not that good. BeyondCompare is in a league of it's own when it comes with diff apps (it's commercial though). I can vouch for the rest too....ConEmu especially is very very nice.

What i found ironic about that article is : "Hopefully other publishers and developers take note of this, and see the excellent work done by 4k Games on Metro Last Light as an example of what should be done instead" Except the Lin

As much as i like C#, static typed languages are inadequate when using them in shell. You really don't want to type all that. Powershell has access to the BCL and can do all that with a nicer syntax when using it in the shell.

No. The word "alternative" implies a certain quality and that you can actually switch. Sorry but this isn't the case here. I've used SharpDevelop in the past but there is a world of difference between VS + R# and SharpD

Powershell. Not to mention that a lot of stuff you would do with Chef/Puppet, on Windows are done directly from the "package" itself (create a default user with limited rights to run under, set up IIS for web apps etc etc). A

On Windows i use Boxstarter or a simple powershell script that invokes Chocolatey (must be already installed). I had a look at Puppet/Chef.......wow those really look complicated for something that should really be simple.

If you're on Windows, ConEmu offers the same functionality. And as a bonus you can also run windows apps inside the terminal window. Here's how it looks http://i.imgur.com/dEpQYJf.jpg
