I keep going in circles with thinking about trying NixOS. I see an article like this about how great it is, think I might try it, then go down a rabbit hole of all the horror stories, and then give up before starting.

I do wish egress were free, it’s one of the reasons I stick with Cloudflare R2 at the moment.

I really like Tailscale. Recently though I’ve been having some hard-to-diagnose slowdowns even on a direct (non DERP) connection. I’m not sure if it’s something to do with MTUs or my ISP.

I’m sure I’ve clicked “show fewer shorts” every single time it’s shown me shorts. It seems to make zero difference.

Agree with this. There are so many posts everywhere with breathless claims of AGI, and absolutely ZERO evidence of critical thought applied by the people posting such nonsense.

I’m talking about integrating with GitHub. Publishing to Cloudflare for instance is fine, but where do you put the images between drafting and publishing? Or do you just check in images to GitHub and call it a day?

I like Hugo, but I’ve not found a nice workflow to automatically put the images on a CDN. I was thinking of making a GitHub action that uploaded the image from a given branch, deleted it, set the URL, and finally merged only the md files to

I really don’t want to wear a battery in that form factor. Sure a phone or watch can burst into flames, but at least you’ve got a chance of dropping it or taking it off. I also don’t see the bother of talking to your wrist rather than your

I didn’t know they’d added an alternative kernel. The CGAL one used arbitrary precision which massively slowed it down. Also, fillets are made using the Minkowski operation, which is super slow.

If that’s Octopus Intelligent Go, then it will also give you the 7p rate outside the normal nighttime slot if the car is charging and their algo calculates they can do it.

The one you linked looks ugly. Horrible seams, odd and too-long red buttons, unaligned slots.

On the contrary, I think you’ve done a fantastic job with the enclosure. Far from looking “half melted”, you’ve made good use of the bed texture, and the design is top notch.

Always impressed with the PIO capabilities. Reminds me of the old BeagleBone Black that had two small separate cores that worked in a similar way. Someone used it to create a 3D printer control system. Are there any other chips out there li

The wording in that follow-up email is so emotive it reads more like a Tweet than formal contact from a federal organisation. That in itself is quite shocking really.

Real shame it’s only 60Hz at 4k. There’s a gap for good 120Hz@4k streaming. Hoping the next Apple TV will do it. Edit - updated specs claim it can do this, but it’s limited to HDMI 2.0

I’m struggling to understand how you’ve put pride flags and death threats in the same category of “extremely divisive”. I see others have asked the same question, but you don’t seem to have the courage to respond. What’s divisive about a pr

I’ve been tempted, but a lot of the forum feedback (ie not the breathless YouTube “reviews”), suggest that optically they are pretty bad, especially near the edges.
