Will you elaborate on the obvious reasons? Pretend they aren't obvious to me. I'm interested in reading more about athletic advantages gained from consuming meat. Is there a reason that other sources of protein aren't giving

50k words on an iPhone is really impressive. I'm guessing you didn't find it too frustrating or you wouldn't have made it to 50k words?

The primary reason is that it's useful to know what was happening on a system when something was logged. When troubleshooting an unexpected error in a log, the troubleshooting starts by building context. What was the action, what was t

When you put your fiat currency into a traditional bank, the bank doesn't hold it for you either. They also issue IOUs. Coinbase is more similar to a bank than it is to a wallet.

I'd love to find a good iPad style dev workflow, but the step that requires "commit and push" before compiling is a deal breaker for me. Is there no rsync or good way to move a local copy to a remote dev server from the iPad?

Doesn't this make 2fa less secure for you? Assuming your password and your recovery codes are in the same place, that's only one factor auth.

I wouldn't share my Gmail password. Besides, I have two-factor enabled on my account, so the password alone wouldn't be that useful. If you are using Gmail, you can share access to your inbox with another account. This would still

I'd be as huge fan. Running a small office with 15 people in it takes a lot of work. I'm definitely not above mopping the floors, doing the dishes or hanging whiteboards myself, but it's more effective for me to pay someone t

For things that might be useful in the future, I'll just rely on Chrome's history and my own memory (and ability to search for it in Google) to find it if/when needed. That's worked pretty well. Sometimes the search take

That's a great story. Thanks for sharing. I think it's common on sites like HN for us to see your original post and think "he uploads videos and gets how much?" But it's the backstory that's interesting. What e

That's pretty impressive. I'm curious to hear how your YouTube account gained enough followers to make this possible. It would be difficult to convince an artist to upload it into your account before you had traction.

It's not really that much less egregious than root. With this shared account, anyone is able to log in and become root. There is not audit capabilities when using shared accounts. Using shared accounts is just bad idea.

You really need to think about security as a few distinct, but related parts. There's (at least) infrastructure, data and product security to consider. 1. Infrastructure security is because you don't want intruders on your servers
