Great suggestion on the first one. The second one is more tricky given the type of site we run (local news). Maybe there is a local e-commerce play...not sure.

This is very interesting. Why don't you like mobile ads? The conversions aren't good?

Can I say that it is quite refreshing to see a politician talking straight & frankly with the stakeholders publicly about what the issues are and the way forward no matter how bitter the medicine. It is quite inspiring actually. I feel

I think one of the more interesting aspects to this is how much PG has followed his own advice with YC. i.e. he made something people (founders) wanted with YC. That allowed him to craft the entire experience around what is good for founder

Which I think validates his point - i.e. it is all a wash, because the Google fund produced ginormous returns but the cleantech fund was bust. Especially considering that, if memory serves me correctly, Google was the only winner in that fu

Every once in a while, I will stumble across a thread on HN that turns out to have been perfectly crafted for me. I would like to thank the original poster for posting this talk and all the other HNers for posting the follow-up info (includ

I would love to get some feedback on the technical details. Why did they have to create a data model in Java and then cross compile that into other languages for their various platforms? Why not just create a RESTful API on top of Gmail, an

Love this. The installed app looks just as good as the screenshots. One question, what does "powered by Symantec" mean? Is this just a sexy UI on top of a Symantec engine?

Not to be pedantic, but the notion of launching "12 startups in 12 months" is ridiculous. I am sure you mean "12 apps in 12 months". A startup is a company that is positioned for high-growth (both in headcount and user c

How does PG feel about this? I don't mean in a theoretical, reporter-seeking-a-quick-headline kinda way. I mean, as someone that literally built something from scratch that was acquired by a tech giant some 15+ years ago....to have the

Bravo. Love this. This statement may come off polarizing, but the same applies to minorities. As a black man, and a Jamaican, other black people and other Jamaicans don't need "black CEOs" to look up to. They just need other

So this project is likely to be VERY different than what most HNers are posting - largely because there isn't a MAJOR tech component. I partnered with a friend of mine to launch a fitness workout series - https://10poundpled
