I have a Meteor app in the app store (built before this official support) and had no trouble with the approval process. The ability to update over the air is quite nice. The only time you have to resubmit to apple is when you update the obj

For those wondering, it's a Meteor/Telescope ( http://telesc.pe/ ) HN like forum with a focus on APIs. I'm curious to know where you're hosting it (modulus, heroku, etc), how many servos/dynos you are

I'm confused about these lines: "As self-employed, independent contractors, though, UberX drivers receive a Form 1099-MISC...Subsequently, UberX drivers are hit with a 5.6 percent tax deduction for each mile they drive...if he or

I'm a big believer in testing APIs. As mentioned in the post, these tests can serve a similar purpose as integration tests, and can double as documentation and API health checks. I've been building a tool that makes it easier to w

This actually has nothing to do with who is online or if the app is currently requesting info. An example: You have a posts db table (or collection in the case of Parse, since they're using MongoDB) and a user_posts table. The user_pos

For me, a combination of books and building a real, substantive app works best. I was actually in the same boat as you a couple of months ago. I have significant experience with Ruby/Node, and studied C++/Java in school. I decided

This makes a "fan-out" model for any feed-type app pretty difficult. For example in an app with friends or followers, when a user posts something the app would perform inserts to add the post into the followers/friends feed t

Reminds me of the top iOS paid app right now - A Dark Room. I wonder if he got some inspiration from that game.

Great start. From a UI perspective, I'd try and do a bit more to get away from the default bootstrap look. It's pretty immediately identifiable, and makes your design blend in with so many others these days (in a bad way).
