My dad likes to tell this story of building a house: First you start with the a beautiful, pristine plot of land. Then you dig a giant hole in the ground and cause a giant mess. So to fix that, you pour a big concrete foundation. But you ar

The challenge is that you don’t necessary want to be often taking lots of drugs “just in case,” since they can have their own long-term issues (just browse the other comments here for discussion). Also, adverse-drug interactions is potentia

You are welcome to look for evidence, but OP is also wrong about the spike protein being "fully functional" in the vaccine. The spike protein sequence was modified in many ways in creating the vaccine, including to prevent it from

Why? We can hypothesize anything, but we shouldn’t just assume everything. The manufacturers made changes to the RNA sequence to reduce the ability to leave the cell, and then tested it in animal studies to confirm.

There was a large spike in unemployment in the US/worldwide. Combining that with drastic shifts in consumption patterns, causing a ripple effect in delayed production changes. And perhaps also shortages are just getting more attention

> Irrelevance of vaccines: in Denmark the percentage of Omicron cases that are vaccinated is the same as the overall vaccination rate, i.e. there's ~no impact of vaccines. I see currently reported numbers of 75% and 81% for those ra

Well, logically speaking, we never needed vaccines, since some percentage of the human race will survive COVID regardless. The question always was just whether you can improve your own odds of staying healthy. And so far that data seems to

I believe that science and religion must be compatible, or else at least one must be wrong. I believe in both. Scientific consensus says the vaccine saves lives, and religion says I must not kill people. This seems compatible to me. Who car

I think it could be technically accurate, if you include that vaccination before getting infected gives better immunity than most other options. (It is almost like a booster shot, but worse in almost every possibly way) Also probably true w

Highly improbable, but not impossible, particularly for beings with finite lifespans over the long term. Herd immunity is reached at HIT=1-1/R0, at which point the infection rate will slow, and some of the remaining uninfected and unva
