It would be amazing if someone could design a programming language around debugging. There are many languages that are designed around preemptively catching bugs using a type system, and I do use static type systems, but this in no way obli

Yes exactly you have to separate the abstract idea of s-expressions in memory from their textual syntax (parentheses). S-expressions in memory are a really really good idea and chronically underused in modern programming languages. The pa

Yet restaurants in UK (including burger king) do sell food labeled as vegetarian or vegan, and UK commercial kitchens are definitely smaller on average than in the US. So either enforcement is lax or compliance is just not a big deal.

I don't think it's really a conspiracy theory. Recall that before the Dual_EC affair, the reputation of the NSA was that they were a benevolent force that helped strengthen DES against differential cryptanalysis before it was publ

Even the hot dog stand near me (UK) has separate equipment to cook vegetarian hot dogs. I don't think it's a big deal, that's just one of the obligations of selling food to the public, to honestly label things.

Is that different to DNRs? It's the job of doctors to make life and death decisions. It's fine to not trust doctors; after experiencing some medical errors I don't either. But often there's no choice other than to trust

In the end it's apple who loses. Customers can use Linux or Windows, but how is apple going to sell $6000 workstations and $5000 displays without even the option to install aftermarket nvidia cards? OK so Apple doesn't trust nvidi

It's usually only obligatory to accept cash for settling a debt, e.g. if you have eaten in a restaurant, the restaurant is obliged to accept cash, because you can hardly give back the food you already ate (at least in the same form). B
