The executed bit is an attribute that the FS stores about the file, and isn't technically part of the file itself. Strip all the execute attributes out of your *nix system and see what happens.

This article is just as useless as asking "why are all your file formats different and confusing?" I mean, it's just binary data, right? Why can't they just write all their ones and zeros the same way?

I suppose with unified memory there's no real difference between the kernel and userspace; it's just different security zones. The MMU era used separate memory spaces to enforce security, but it's probably safer in the log ru

The true hero in AWS is its authentication and accounting infrastructure. Most people don't even think about it. But authenticating trillions of operations per second is why AWS works. And the accounting and billing. Anyone that does a

Nobody should use recursion in production code, period. And no, it's not like malloc. If you don't understand why then you definitely shouldn't be putting recursive calls in your codebase.

People have been trying to shoehorn the Internet into the OSI model for decades. It's like the OSI supporters have waged a campaign to be relevant...and won. It's a nice model, but once it gets above the phy layer it becomes sort
